Cyber security is the state of being protected against cyber crime and hacking attacks. Cyber security can be defined as “the prevention of loss of confidentiality, integrity, or availability of data, software, hardware, information or any communications technology that what is cyber security explain stored, transmitted or operated on.”
Cyber security has become increasingly important with the growth of the Internet and organizations handling critical information. It is an interdisciplinary effort to provide security in computer systems. It includes aspects of many fields including law enforcement, public policy (e.g., law, criminal justice), national defense, intelligence gathering, computer science (e.g., cryptography), and more generally includes the management of risk.
Cyber security affects everyone in different ways. Businesses are concerned about protecting their trade secrets. Individuals are concerned about identity theft and privacy concerns when confidential information is stolen from a database. Governments are concerned about protecting critical infrastructure and preventing espionage in a cyber war.
